hellooo im planning a trip to asheville NC at the end of march im staying over at warren wilson for a night and then checking out unc-asheville im pretty sure ill be staying 5 days total. was just wondering if anyone in the area could give me any tips on what to do/see while im there? thank you! marissa
Just float around. I LOVE Asheville. Check to see if anyone good is playing at the Orange Peel. If its a Sunday there is a bar that I believe is called Ebony that has street musicians - real down home chicago r&b out in the streets. You can't go wrong with Asheville really. Honestly, outside of where I live now, Asheville is my favorite place in the country.
Go to the Biltmore! The house is pretty cool, but the grounds are even better. It'll probably be pretty cold when you go, but still walking around the gardens is awesome no matter what the weather.
ah, asheville im moving up there soon.....unca is a good school. just go dowtown, lots of cool n funky little shops! and its easy to get around and you can do it all on foot bc its not very big. just have fun and explore, good luck!!
gotta get come coffee on the old dubbledecker bus. theres always a show there too. my first time there i stopped by before smilefest had a good time for a coupla days. my van broke down on the way back from the festy and the kids at backfromthedead VW took me in so i could build a new motor. gotto check out particle before bonnaroo so that was cool. now i like to visit folks out in the hills, but i always stop in for a night or two to jam with streetmusicians.
Barley's if you like beer, mellow mushroom... Rosetta's is amazing. Skip the double decker bus coffee! Go to Beanstreets!
i go to beanstreets for coffee, but you have to sit in the double decker at least once and have a cup. its pure poetry, even if they cant get the coffee right!
yeah ok the bus is good for one trip of good coffe and kitch. don't forget about Laughing Seed for great vegetarian food!
will be in Ashville June 2nd-5th for an herbal conference and in need of a cheap or free place to lay my head. any ideas? hostels?
