Ok, I like going barefoot, it's definitely more comfortable than wearing shoes, but I was wondering what you people do in winter? You opt to lower yourself to the shoe? And what about your jobs, they can't be that lax about that stuff, right? Do you have to wear shoes to go shopping, or what? Is this like a hobby, or do you somehow manage to do it full time? I live in Michigan, so I can't see how it would be feasible for me to even try it in the cold months, and stores always have that "no shirt no shoes no service" sign up.
I live in california and here it never gets below 50 in the day except for maybe rare times in deep winter it might go into the 40's. for me I am comfortable w/out shoes down in that temp so its not a problem of temp here. Also they dont have any NSNSNS sings here except for McDonalds but I dont think they enfoce it. I have been in tons of places and never got told to put on shoes except at the barber because they said hair can get stuck in your feet. I think Ca is just Barefoot friendly.
I just moved to Arizona after living in Ohio all my life. So, I don't really know for sure what winter will be like, they tell me it's nice here during that time of year. When I lived in Northeastern Ohio it was pretty much shoe time during the winter months even though I would wear a pair of moccassions without socks. BRRRR!
Florida boy here. Just like Barefoot Girl, I don't have to contend with winter cold. The coldest it gets here is still plenty good for me to be barefoot. In the summer time the pavement gets hot. I either avoid it, tolerate it, or sometimes resort to flip-flops (but that's rare). Plus, my feet are tougher and can withstand some pretty hot pavement. I haven't gone so far as to suffer burns, though, thankfully. Wouldn't mind getting together with Barefoot Girl to enjoy Florida barefoot for a while with someone else who's into it. What do you do, Barefoot Girl, for fun? And where in Florida do you live? Blue skies, -Jeffrey
