Love their music....but I also like a lot of rather obscure groups...like Mama's Boys....and old group...but verry hot !!
Out of those two, Village People, but it's kinda like a choice between head cancer and ass cancer really.
Village People was a made up band, like the boy bands. They got a bunch of performers together and dressed them in queer costumes and fed them disco songs. They weren't even that popular in the day. But every danged Wedding reception DJ has to spin "WMCA" so the idiots will get off their tusha and wave their arms in the air. We didn't even do those hand gestures back in the day. That's a wedding reception thing. To compare WMCA (Village People) to Sissor Sisters is, well: ill. A better question would be, "What Sissor Sisters song would you like played at your wedding?" Answer: "Take me out" .
i hadn't heard of them until a couple of months ago and their music is complete trash, but scissor sisters. they are awful, but for some reason i like it.
I really don't like those scissor thingies. Their music is so overrated and I don't find them that gay at all. Furthermore I think most of their fans are white rock fans. The Village People were a tribute to the disco/gay liberation period. There's much more to them than YMCA.
Scissor Sisters all the way man.. they have some new tunes u should check out too.. its a bit trippy actually.. listen to monkey baby sometime you're high.. it will send u into a weird trance lol.
They're gay in the same way that emo is gay and Beyonce Knowles is black. They're what straight people think gayness would (should?) be like. If you want to blame anyone, blame Queer Eye, they're the ones that started it. Just don't be too hard on them, they had good intentions.
I dunno, just can't shake the feeling that one wouldn't be happening without the other. Everyone's "metrosexual" now, and all it really is a cartoonish version of homosexuality without any of the bumming. To be, that's what Scissor Sisters are; if a straight guy had to imagine a gay band, that's what they'd come up with.
