New Band in vein of Killers, Strokes, Jet, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol!

why would we need copies of bands that suck anyways? how about new bands that don't sound like other bands? originality?

 

Dude, those bands don't suck. Okay the Killers do and I havent heard Interpol really, but the rest are really good (musically at least)

I think this whole Indie thing gets out of hand sometimes. There is nothing wrong with sounding unoriginal. I mean Jet are possibly one of the biggest rip-off bands, but still kick ass as they do their ripping off so damn well. Often people just dislike bands just because they arent arbitrary as fuck.

 

why does the world need more bands like them? why not say something original and interesting like "new band in veins of babies, old people"

Yea Jet rock, but there is this band called Oasis, ever heard of them? They even have a song called "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is". I understand that you understand that they are a ripoff band, but why are you ok with that? I like bands that aren't arbitrary. I just don't care for a band that is knowingly doing something that has been done a million times over. All I'm saying is it's hard to respect a band that is just cashing in on a formula that they know will make them millions.
I will say I like Interpol. When they came out they didn't sound like anybody and nobody sounded like them. They really started all this. The Strokes are musically good. But Franz Ferdinand? Come on. I'm not just spot judging here. I listened to their new album. 3 times. It just sucks. The first album by The Killers was good. there are some really good tracks on there, but their new album in my opinion is just horrible.
there, that is a better explanation of my feelings than my first post. i wasn't trying to be rude or start any fights.

 

i don't know why anyone would want to insult Interpol by putting them in the same category as Jet. i have respect for all those bands except the australian beard boys. i don't quite understand this perception that they aren't original and all sound alike. okay, some more than others, but everyone was influenced by someone.

 

the strokes actually have some decent music
