By any chance does anyone know of a way to remove henna from your hair? I used Hennalucent, but 'twas called "Sunset Glo," and coloured my hair like henna would. I'm pretty confident that it was pretty close to 100% henna.

But, I've been stuck with this god-awful orangey coloured hair for much too long now.. it just doesn't suit me.. I'm beginning to miss my old dark blonde colour and I'm hoping with all my heart that it'll show itself back on my head sooner rather than later. It's not that the colour is in any way a bad colour per say, and if I must I will survive with orange hair, but I adored my old colour and I'm starting to wonder why I masked such a lovely colour with henna in the first place..!

Does anyone know of a way to speed the waiting process? Please someone help me.. I've tried every trick in the book!

    Thanks, loves!

I've used henna lots of times....you have to let it grow out. If you try putting chemical dye over it, it'll just go all weird and you'll have two-tone hair....I've done it. :D

It will fade as well while it grows out, so just try to be patient.

I've gone down the chemical dye road..
Tried to lighten it to a blonde colour..
    Didn't work.
I don't know if my hair is two-toned.. probably is.

How long does it take to grow it out if it's also been chemically dyed?
Ah, I've fucked up big time, heh.

I didn't think henna would be such a commitment..!
Well, thanks for the info, chica! :D

The two-tone bit happens if you had roots...the chemical dye will work on the roots, but not where there was henna, even if you think the henna has faded and gone...

I once dyed mine blonde after growing about 4 inches of roots....I got two different shades...very noticable ;)

Oh, I see what you're saying..
    That makes sense :).

    Well, thanks..
I'll just embrace the reddish orange colour
    henna gave me for now.
I'll try to have more patience :).

    Thank you then!

ah, no good can come from dying hair! I've often had bad luck with home-dying kits, either not the colour I expected or else never even. I look back and wondered why I ever bothered.....

You could always try the following
    1) Go to a professional salon and ask them to attempt to strip the color from your hair (I'm unsure if this would work, but it's worth a try to ask...just so you know it's a long long process and your hair WILL suffer, if they can even do it)
    2) You could attempt to dye over it with a darker color (if you're up for that) This may work in masking it, but make sure to do a strand test beforehand

This is a bit late, but someone once told me they had good luck with a yogurt mask on their head. They just took some plain yogurt and pasted it on, then put a shower cap over it and let it go all day. It managed to strip quite a bit out, but not all of it. Not sure how it would work with all hair colors though. :\

I have had ok luck with hair color, but I've never used henna. The one time I went from black to blonde I went to a salon and it DESTROYED my hair. I mean, it really does break off and it was stretchy like rubberbands. It was the freakiest thing ever. Anyway, like you said, try to embrace the henna for now. It will grow out.

^Silver, I love love love your sig.
