Why would "god" allow man to build the Nuclear Bomb, something that would destroy what he has built and also destroy all his followers? Yeah thats right.
Possible Answers: When "god" gave "man" free will, he intentionally and permanently abdicated his ability to take it away, no matter what "man" did with it. "god" has decided that "he" has bred enough human souls here on earth, and might as well salvage what "he" can from the final harvest. Nuclear destruction, although it seems disasterous to us, may from "god's" point of view be simply clearing the stage for "his" next act. "god" plans to intervene at the last minute so he can say: "I told you so!"
Wow, Twizz. You're a badass. I'm sure you're the first person to come up with that point... You're just re-wording the whole "why would a good god allow bad things to happen to good people" argument. This argument would make alot more sense to me if God was a genie who granted wishes, or if God/the bible/christians made the explicit gaurantee that if you are good, bad things will NEVER happen to you. And just why would God try and stop a nuclear bomb? If we really are hellbent on destroying the earth, and god really is all powerful and has intentionally prevented himself from interfering with our free will, it would seem god would let us destroy ourselves, face our consequnces, and then create a new world. I'd go with Zajko's first explanation.
Because the egos of those that believe in him will only be satisfied if a) he appears or b) everyone dies so they don't have to keep trying to prove he is real. B is just easier to attain.
Uhh how the fuck are you going to have anything live on a planet that is completely fucked up by radiation and probably will end up blown to bits? Christians don't think things through...
The earth was once too full of radiation and noxious gasses for anything to live on it...but over millions of years, the conditions changed to those we see today. You should know that, evolution boy. And even if the earth were blown to smithereens (sp?) I'm sure there's another life-friendly planet somewhere in the universe. God isn't limited to our solar system.
People gave you pretty good answers, maybe you're not thinking things through right. We have free will, what we do with it is up to us, whether we use it to make humanity great, or to totally destroy it.
God would allow men to build an A-Bomb for the same reason He would allow men to nail His Son to a cross. Free will. God tells us that if it were not for His return no flesh would be saved. God knew how bad things will get here on earth, yet God has a plan for His people, and His plan can be found in His Word, the Bible.
