adventures with campus security

soo, me and two of my friends went up to one of their dorms. we're starting our first year at college, and this was the very first time my friend had slept at her dorm. obviously we were gonna smoke...so we took all the proper precautions...blanket under the door, spoof made with tons of fabric softener sheets, plenty of island mango room spray, plus, we smoked by the window. so after getting ridiculously high, we went outside to have a cigarette. while sitting on the front steps of the dorm, two campus security men came out.

"who's up in 515?"-CS guy
"oh, that's me"-friend
"why don't you come with me please"-CS

so she went inside and left me and our friend practically shitting our pants on the front steps. turns out, the RA had called security reporting a "suspicious smell." bitch. the two men and my friend went into the room...fortunately we had put everything away. my friend told them we had just smoked a cigarette in there, and the men said all they could smell was a lot of room spray and a little cigarette smoke. the entire time, i thought they were cops- not campus security-so needless to say i thought we were fucked. after that we went back up. obviously we didn't smoke again that night, and my high was totally killed. looks like we have to invest in a vaporizer.

i still dont see why poeple cant jsut smoke out the window??? there is no smell then! hold the bong above the window-level, and breaht out the window, upwards. no smoke will get into the room!

 

Damn, that must have been a drag. Last year in college we'd toke up in the parking lot, and on this one occasion we were boxing a buddies car and didnt even realize there was security putting parking tickets on a car right beside ours. Didnt notice that we were engulfed by a haze though.

hey man, chill out. maybe down under smoking out the window works, but it's called smell can still get back in the window. real genious comments.

 

Yeah, If the window has a screen on it then smoke particles get stuck to it and leave a scent in the room.

 

Totally sux about the campus cops... and about the RA too. sorry to hear about that, I have it when your high gets torn up by having to 'get in character' for the cops.

hmm. I may be able to help here... Without going to too much detail, I went to college for 'mechanical engineering' so many precautions were taken(to extreemes) when smoking in the dorms :

1. I used to put a box fan in the window blowing the air OUT.(pillows on either side to maintain suction) + if anyone comes by, have some scented oil(candles and incense were not allowed in our dorms) to sprinkle around a little(Not too much as it will be obvious then, of course )

2. I used the towel under the door routine, helped by the fan.

3. Smoking in smaller groups helps to lessen smoke amount/time.

4. I also did everything that would put my mind at ease and diminish any possible cause for paranoia.

This is what got me through college... until I failed... I got too good at this kind of thing and never really stopped to go to class

and from experience, i know that if you smoke out of a window properly (not jsut near it) then any smell that does get into the room would be very small, and it never leaves the room itself. it doesnt even go a few metres away from the room. and its gone very quickly if you leave the window open.

it really must genious if no one else can manage to figure it out.

and evidently if theres a screen, then you wouldnt be able to smoke out the window, and therefor the case of having a scent on teh screen would not apply. in those cases, get rid of teh screen, or dont attempt the method, its pretty simple.

i actually work FOR campus security at my college. but campus security where i'm at is cool and they are not out to fuck people over. i've been "busted" by my own superiors before and nothing happened. they're like "guys... you know you're not supposed to do that, right?" haha. once i was in the middle of my campus (walking across a small field) in my security uniform doing cartwheels with my friends and smoking a pipe at the same time.
as a student officer i barely do any work at all. i ocassionally open a door or two but most of the time i'm hanging out, doing homework, playing guitar, getting high, or drinking. i have to be cool about the drinking though because a drunk security guard cannot perform. but when stoned, oh hell yeah, no problem!

it's all about the school, from what i gather. if you go somewhere conservative you can expect to be forced to hide the pot habit and pay for it you get uncovered. sounds like a bummer. hail to liberalism.

thats what i also noticed. why are some(well most) americans so conscious of security. i know that if u get caught or something u might get expelled and ure parents will kick ure ass but its the same overhere. im studying 1st year medicine so if i to get into shit ill be fucked. but anyway i smoke in broad daylight this whole year in sparsely populated areas in varsity. not once ive been caught or asked "is that weed u smoking"?
but anyway do urll have to smoke in ure dorms? go to the nearest open area and take cover . damn u people make smoking weed sound like its a mission impossible

 

it's not mission impossible, but for a lot of people it's mission don't get caught. cops in my area will do whatever they can to make our lives miserable. the majority of adults, authorities or not, are very intolerant of pot, and think that all young people are little shitheads that never do any work and never behave themselves. i've gotten arrested once before and it fucked up my life royally...and i'm not about to quit smoking because of paranoia, but i'm not about to be careless either. not everybody is as careful as i am though, i'll admit that...but for me at least, i like to feel safe.

 

You're in college do now, if you get caught what's the worst thing your parents are gonna do to you?! I don't see what all the worrying is about.

haha please, you think i care about my parents?! it's not even my dorm, it's my friend's, so i'm not concerned about getting kicked out either. the reason i was so worried (if people would just read more carefully) is because i thought they were cops. i couldn't give two shits what some bitch ass RA says, or my parents for that matter, cause they know i smoke...i don't want to get arrested. like i said, when i got arrested it really messed up my life...and i was only 16 when that happened. once i turn 18 that shit would actually stay on my record. see, i had to spend a shit load of money on a lawyer when i got arrested, had to pay restitution...parents had to pay for a psychologist. the reason i'm so cautious is because i don't want to go through all that again. i don't see why so many of you have a problem with people being careful about their shit...some of us would really rather not have to deal with police, cause they fucking blow. there's nothing wrong with being conscientious when you're doing something ILLEGAL for christ's sake...what sucks is that so many potheads think they're invincible, but there's always the possibility that those people are gonna get fucked over some day, just like it's possible for people who are careful to get fucked over too. like i said, the goddamn plant is illegal (in the states at least), and no matter how much people don't like to hear it, you gotta be aware that sometimes, it's not that hard to get caught. god, since when was caring about your life a fucking crime?

 

blazinstarr I live in New York too and I know how you feel. The police in my area are very intolerant with weed and will make every effort to screw kids over who do it. Play it safe with the weed dont get fucked in college for it...

 

To the blazer who started this thread: What's with the college people today that mon gots ta hide the sacred herb from the dorm leaders? If you can't smoke in college, where in the world can Rasta smoke? College has changed a lot since Rasta went, when the RAs would bring dread the supplies and bless all, and all were irie.

 

i know, it sucks. some RAs are cool with smoking, i just haven't met any yet.
