charging- when is it appropriate

in case you are unfamiliar, or have different terminology, charging is when two people put their hands together to make a 'pipe' or a 'tube' and one person blows the smoke through the hands and the other person inhales.

My question: when is this appropriate?

First time to smoke with another person?
Is it okay for guys to charge other guys? or..whatever, girls to girls...
Are you offended if you offer a charge and the other person turns it down?
Is it a personal thing? something only between close friends? Because breathing smoke that's already been in somebody's lungs seems kind of personal to me...
Any particular etiquette? personal experience?

totally appropriate. my buds and i used to do it all the time when we were low on smoke- just don't try and KISS 'em

 

i've done it with my gf when it was her first time, I kissed her and blew into her mouth at the same time

 

yeah this is fine when you are close to someone (sibling, lover, bff) but not to strangers imo. and where im from its called shotgunning. but charging is a cool term

 

we call it shotgunning too. Usually only really close friends, and people in relationships do it. Its more an act of affection than a commonplace thing between smokers

 

we call em shottys here (short for shotgun, obviously) but ya, nothin gay about it. i dont even do the hand thing sometimes, that can kinda get fucked up if your really high and it takes awhile to fold your hands together. but i dunno, ive ususally gotten a shotty from my other friends who are mostly guys. its all good. happy smoke.

 

Shotguns here, I've done it with people I've met for the first day. I don't put any special connetation on it as far as affection goes. It's just something two people can do together that isn't sexual really. I could see if someone had a gf/bf that it could be used that way, but usually its not.

I don't see it as something only for close people. I've done it with people the first time I've met and smoked with them. My cousin's boyfriend gives them to her and me all the time and there's nothing awkward about it.

 

it shouldn't be THAT good since most of the THC is already absorbed after about 7-10 seconds. but if you exhaled it right after inhaling it then neither of you wouldn't get the amount you would even need. unless after every single hit you take you would want to shotgun it. just kinda pointless IMO

 

^ About the THC being absorbed: that's what I'd think, but how would we get all these threads about getting animals high on second-hand hits if there wasn't something left in them?

Well, all of us usually give shotguns off of a blunt when it's less than half it's length... we just ask if anyone wants one and everyone will fall into a single-file line... then we have seconds.

 

shotgunning is when you put a joint/blunt backwards (cherry in your mouth) and blow fresh smoke carfully not to burn your mouth for the other person gets a monster hit, its not sharing second hand smoke.

 

like i said, barley enough THC to even feel anything. but maybe animals have a way less tollerant level than humans, and animals have like 3 or 4 times keen smeel than humans do. thus making it alot easier for them to feel it? i dunno

how is there any second hand smoke? its all fresh smoke from a blunt. i guess a joint would work too but we usually just do it with blunts. i cant give them, the only time i tried i burnt my lips before i even got it in my mouth haha. but yeah, they work great. it felt kinda strange the first time i tried it, but yeah, its almost always appropriate if your just with your friends.

 

It's always appropiate in my book, except when the person who charges has bad breath. I rather let it go round though.

at jazzfest, i shotgunned with a bunch of people i had just met.
you can shotgun with anyone at anytime.
just ask them first, maybe they've never done it.
