here is a testament taken from a Book called 'Jesus Freaks' by a christian band called DC talk:

This particular testament is of a man called Thomas Hauker, an englishman who was to be burnt at the stake in 1555

    " I have to know"

"Thomas," his friend lowered his voice so as not to be heard by the guard. "I have to ask you this favour. I need to know if what the others say about the grace of God is true. Tommorow when they burn you at the stake, if the pain is tolerable and your mind is still at peace, lift your hands above your head. Do it right before you die. Thomas, I HAVE to know."

Thomas Hauker whispered to his friend "i will"

The next morning Hauker was bound to the stake and the fire was lit. THe fire burned a long time, but Hauker remained motionless. His skin was burnt to a crisp and his fingers were gone. Everyone watching supposed he was dead. Suddenly, miraculously, Hauker lifted his hands still on fire, over his head. He reached them up to the living God, and then with great rejoicing, clapped them together three times.

The people there broke into shouts of praise and applause. Haukers friend had his answer.

    The end.

'My grace is enough;it's all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness...It was a case of Christ's strength moving in on my own weakness. Now...I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker i get, the stronger i become.' Paul the apostle Martyred in Rome AD 65

    (2 corinthians 12:9,10 THE MESSAGE)

To bad the grace of God couldn't save him from the Holy Roman Catholic Church who burned him at the stake and invented Christianity as it is practiced today.

-Jesus did save him and he can seperate those who hate him from those who love him. There will be no phony believers in heaven, but hell filled with the religious that did not know him.

Us sure budy... that's the compassionate God I know. Jesus probably is in heaven (if there is such a thing) because he did not judge.

If the only reason you are pursuing a relationship with God is to avoid hell then you are FAR more misguided then I originally thought.

PS: He was a christian.. what makes you think he hated Jesus. The church killed him becasue they didn't think he was practicing the right version of christianity.

As the church is still trying to pursecute people who have differing beleifs. Jesus was here to bring the good word... unfortunately his followers today didn't get it. They are still judging, still condeming, still listening to the stories instead of focusing on the truth.. the light.. the way... a bunch of pharisees I tell you! be warned...

Christians dont believe to avoid hell. They believe to have purpose, respect a God who'd sacrifice the greatest thing he owned for us and a Living God....well that was generalised ....i kinda meant me...not christians in general before u start kicking my ass.

Christians should believe in God because it is the truth. Hell is just a biproduct of not believing.
