Yes but if you had continued to read and understand the rest of my posts maybe you would have better understood what point I was trying to make. Everyone judges; it's a part of life that, unfortunately, no one can escape. However minor a judgement might be, everyone does it at some point or another. But once again, the point that I was trying to make was that Jesus condemed people based on his judgements of whether they are right or wrong. So if they don't follow him or live according to his ways they are punished. That intolerance was the point I was trying to make. Maybe I didn't word that first post well enough....
one of the things i prefer to do is try to read jesus' actions instead of the politicized words of his followers. sorry to all the literalists out there, but i don't think the writer's of the bible were infallible in their inspiration from god. a lot of the stuff i read about christ seems like a lot of hooey to me, but the man's intentions always seemed to come through. respect your fellow man, never forget you're a sinner, and show mercy. fight for the dignity of your brethren, forgive everything, and love god absolutely. how can i disagree with any of that? read between the lines written by people straining to maintain, however well-intentioned, the right to disseminate the brilliant words and concepts of a truly genius and gentle man.
that is more or less word for word what my dad would say on the subject and I agree with both of you S
