    Really neither.

I dunno, I guess Brokeback because it might actually have some sex in it. Whatever, I don't care.

The sound of music is one of my fav movies. Bareback mountain is amazingly dull.

It's a romance movie, they're pretty much slow and tedious by definition (just like real relationships). If you want a decent gay romance movie, try Brief Encounter, although even that's way too long.

Can anyone actually think of a movie with a gay person in where their sexuality isn't a big deal/central to the plot?

Brokeback Mountain because of the impact it had on the discussion of gay issues. It was too long and a bit boring, but it opened a lot of eyes in the straight comunity.

    Lol.

A quick wank doesn't solve this one though.

I don't believe they are a fair comparison. It's like asking if you prefer DELIVERANCE or DRIVING MISS DAISY (since they are both set in the south).
I could watch THE SOUND OF MUSIC over and over again. I'm afraid BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN--while incredibly personally moving to me--is not a film that has me leave with that feel good feeling.

I was trying to think of examples myself, I haven't been to the movies in a while though, and most of the films I do see are horror movies, where happy endings aren't really on the cards for anyone. But it has kinda struck me that I can't really think of many.

I did get into an argument with someone about whether As Good As It Gets portrays homosexuality a positive or negative way. We didn't ever resolve that one.
