how do you feela bout this game? id read really good things about it, but playing it... i hate how the controls are set up. the mouse to point thin gis irritating and i swear to god i get motion sickness from playign the damn thing for more than 30min. fighting underwater is unbelievably difficult and its just kidn of diasspointing compared to the reveiws ive read
are there interesting things other then fighting you can do in it? (like making stuff, social experimentation, exploring a vast, preferably endless, and diverse universe, and so on?) =^^= .../\...
Yes, I do think so. It's a little bit smaller as the Elder scrolls III: Morrowind, but that world (an island) was so vast and there were so much things to do I for one haven't finished it. As a magician, for example, you could make your own magic potions, the ingredients could be bought but also found in nature.
I love oblivion. Games where you get to explore large worlds and have lots of freedom to do what you want are always my favorites. And the Dark Brotherhood missions were pretty fucking cool...
I loved this game. Of course, once the story ends I have a hard time doing all the extra things in a game, so I only got a thief to level 18. Did all the main story, the thieves guild, and the dark brotherhood. A few extra quests also.
Did you guys played Morrowind as well? Which game was bigger in the end, with all the side stuff and all? And which one did you liked more?
Oblivion was great, but there were things about it that annoyed me. I guess I was really used to games where you wanted to level up fast, but oblivion its just the opposite. You actually should use your minor skills before major ones to get the best attribute bonuses at a level up. Some parts of the game got way too repetitive. The oblivion gates were all nearly the same, as were a lot of the caves. I gotta admit though, there was some really interesting stuff. (warning spoiler) I loved the quest for the dark brotherhood where you had to kill all the people who where looking for the money in the house. That has to be my favorite quest I've done so far.
I Find this a Very Beautiful Game to Play... What Races Did Everyone Play as? Currently...I am a Female Nord...Who Looks Very much Like Milla Jovovich... God...She's Hot... It's a Really Addictive Game...You Can Lose Yourself in There for so many Hours... The Actual Game Play is Easy to Pick up...The missions as Numerous and Varied...There is Always Something you Can be Doing... I Like the Actual Size of the Game...Seems to Take Forever Traveling Across Country... The Graphics and Sound are so Beautifuly Done... Thes is the First Game I Have Played in the Elder Scrolls Series...And I Have Had a most Fantastic Time Playing... I Have the Game on XBOX360...Not Sure WHat Everyone ELse had Played it On... But God...It's a Really Good Game... makes me want to Write Stories... Oh...And How Can Anyone Not Like a Game WHere you Can Ride Horses Across the Land... I Can Ramble on a Good Deal About this Game... It is Very Good...Impressive...
I love it. I got it when it came out and I'm nearing 200 hours of play. I'm not even that far in the main quest, I just do other stuff. I can spend a whole Saturday just roaming and doing pointless side quests, it's amazing. For whoever asked, Oblivion is bigger. Get this: Morrowind had 6 square miles of land, Oblivion had 16, and Daggerfall, the second Elder Scrolls game, had 161,600 square miles, making it roughly double the size of Great Brittain. It had 15,000 towns and villages, and 750,000 NPCs. I really want to get that game, just to check it out.
I only played Morrowind of the Elder scrolls games. I also have Daggerfall, a friend of mine recommended it. I think it's because I'm not a diehard gamer, but I didn't liked Daggerfall at all. It's just too old for me. It looked horrible and it played horrible as well. I bet all those towns look kind of the same. But it was big indeed
I'm still on Elder Scrolls 3. The game is the longest I've ever played. Oblivion looks awesome though.
shit man i have such terrible forumsmanship =PPP yeah the towns were all randomly generated and the game was buggy as shit, but i wasted hundreds of hours of my life on that game... not to mention you could make your character completely naked =D
Haha, I remembered I got killed quite a few times in the cave in the beginning because I couldn't figure out how to kill the rat that attacked me. Those controls maybe were accepted when the game came out, but I just couldn't enjoy them when I tried it a few years ago.
yeah it was pretty unweildy.. i played the shit out of the game but i never beat it because it would always freeze at a cruical event or you wouldnt be able to pick up a plot-necessary item.. but the world was 2x the size of the UK or some outrageous nonsense like that... they said it took 2 real time weeks to walk from one end of the map to the other...there were a billion and five towns in the game... man fuck elipses
Oblivion is an FPS with swords with a few mediocre RPG elements thrown in. If you're looking for an amazing RPG, not just a hack and slash game that can barely call itself an RPG, get Morrowind Game of The Year for 10-20 bucks.
