Wow these guys are amazing! Just saw them again last night. Far better than I could have imagined. Check them out if you get the chance. With a variety of unique guitarists, vocal harmonies, and a stage full of talented musicians they have an amazingly fresh sound and energy. P.S. - Who knows where they got their name?
Yeah, man. Good job lovin' the Gomez. Usually they wouldn't be my style...but they can play for sure. Sweet Virginia is one helluva song. They're definately an experiance. To use a cliche it really is a wall of sound. If you like them, check out Stockholm Syndrome. Another damn good band. The've got the groove.
These guys are at the top of their game. Here it is almost 3 years later and they just keep on getting better. The show last night at the Vic was absolutely outstanding. The bonus of having Ben Kweller open was a pleasant surprise. He seems like a promising young artist. Obviously influenced by the likes of both Bob Dylan and the Beatles, his trio had a sort of "Brittish Invasion" feel to it. Incase you missed this one, there was an HD video crew on hand, capturing both performances with multiple cameras including a crane cam. Not sure if, when or where this may surface, but I sure hope to see it again one day. Look for the smiley guy standing, slipping, sliding and occasionally stumbling around in front of the video/soundboard. I fear my buzz may be visible on this broadcast. Other notable tour info... They're doing this one green (with support of a sponsor). There's an interesting video with a couple band members that details the endeavor. It can be seen here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyH7_RsVR3I
i saw them live at the pukkelpop fest in belgium in 1998-they just had their first cd out-bring it on
I've never seen them live, although I'd love to. First song I ever heard by them was Machismo... great music
