I want to wrap some, maybe most of my 3 month old backcombed dreads, using embroidery thread. I'm worried about a couple of things though...
Will they continue to lock up properly whilst wrapped? I mean they won't be able to move around will they. and also-
What about when they are washed? will the dreads dry properly?

The reason Im in a rush to wrap them is 'cos my hair is grey, and this messy stage looks a LOT worse when your hair is greying! It might look cute when you're 17 and dye it, but I dont want to dye anymore and at the moment I look like a baglady, lol. My intention is to dress the dreads up once they've matured, using lots of goodies -beads, wraps etc so the grey wont look dull.
    Thanks....:)

hey^^. i have about 5 or 6 of mine wrapped in hemp. there is another post somewhere here about wrapping and washing, and it seems hemp is the hardest and takes longest to dry when ya wash. so i'm not sure about that thread stuff, but as long as you specifically dry them a little more, ring em out, blow dry, whatever you prefer, it should be fine.^^

as for the locking process, i've found that wrapping it helps. i've taken a few out before, and what once was semi-locked hair was now a fully locked dready^^. so yah, wrapping definately helps lock em up^^.

hope that helps^^. i LOVE decorating my dreads^^. i've got several different wrap colors and different beads...lol. tis fun^^

leave em in till they fall apart or u want em out
wrapping 4 sure helps the hair does move inside the wrappeds but i think in a more limmeted range so forms much tighter loops
