Okay, no w- I'm not bashing music "these days" - because I'm not trying to come off as rude- but I've got my XM radio on the MIX NOW station and I'm sort of ashtonished at what's coming out of it. The music is the same 3 notes and the same bass beat over and over- and then a male voice saying "yeah, yeah, yeah, I like that, Yeah Yeah, Yeah"... now - last time I checked - that wasn't music. But then again, I thin music is anything you put your heart into - but... did they really put their heart into saying yeah yeah yeah for 10 minutes? What happened to the Petty's, Lennon's, and Dylan's? Someone please refresh me... I haven't listened to the radio in a year and I'm just so lost /
Most are on independent labels. Actually, I havent even heard anything much lately that I would consider new and interesting...but that's me. Im very much fine with listening to the smorgusboard (sp?) of music I already love. I dont search out new music much anymore. Actually though, I just discovered David Gray who I love already. His voice sounds so much like Dylan's....his music is good (I think) and his greatest influence in music is Dylan....so, if ya want you can sample all his stuff at his site David Gray.com. Also, Mike Farris ( front man of the cheetah screamin' wheelies) makes pretty good music too. He had the voice, that's undeniable....he has been around since the early 90's but I always reccomend him.
to me all the music today (most of it, i wont say all) is the same song about sex and money and titties and asses with a similar beat
i wouldnt say its all the same, but the message and the dumbing down is the same, and it all works the same.
