...and had a great time. Highlights: saw the exhibition BODIES at that big museum on the Damrak - it has real preserved dead people with all their skin stripped off. Some are sliced up 4 ways so you can see inside from every angle, some have the top of the skull cut off so you can check out the brain: www.bodiesamsterdam.nl watched some dutch guys rowing down a canal in a bathtub; got talking to a friendly stoned dutch guy in Dam Square, but he turned out to be a bit of a facist so I made my excuses; a hooker came out from her window and chased after me as I walked past. I went as red as the lights; a very pleasent Sunday morning spent in Amnesia, drinking cofee and sampling some morrocan cream. Stayed at the Bellevue, opposite Central Station. Highly recommended, stylish and affordable. The bar next door which is the oldest in Amsterdam is ace and has actual sawdust on the floor. Serves best Heineken in town.
Sounds like a good trip. I am heading over at the end of the month. 8 of us total. That body exhibition seems pretty cool! I want to do that for sure. What other things did you do that were pretty fun? I as looking the other day for some up-to date prices on weed...could you help me out with that? Thanks
Well, the bodies exhibition is well worth seeing if it's still on. Other than that at it depends what you're into and how much time you've got. Some of the markets are worth checking out. If you get bored with the centre of town getting lost in the Jordaan is good way to pass an afternoon. If you've never been to the Van Gogh museum then I'd recommend that too. Never bothered with Ann Frank's house. If you want to take a canal ride you can book a good one at Boom Chicago in Liedesplein, they has a little boat and will take you out on a guided tour - sure you can smoke too. Loads better than those big tourist boats. Didn't buy much gear, but I picked up a gram of morrocan gold from Amnesia for about 10E. Nice if you like hash.
