lol that last guy was funny .. and smart.. "i have no idea what ur talking about" "u wanna answer ur phone" "o .. is it ringing?" "yea" "well.. ill just turn it off till where finished talking" "do u know who that was" "it could of been my mother.. i dunno" "no.. it was our staff calling the number u gave the underage boy online" "hmmm.. ... what are those cops here for"
Something in the terrible grammar and spelling of this thread bothers me. Anyhow...... Predators are fun. The Pterodactyl has always been my favourite.
i definitely think that internet predators ought to be punished... however, i do believe that sleeping with a minor isn't so incredibly terrible if the minor is consenting and sexually matured. that said, i still think the rules are there for a damned good reason and people shouldn't tempt fate... but....as much as i think that these people should be stopped somehow, there seems to be something fundamentally wrong with luring people into incriminating themselves. and if nothing else i think its fucked up to show them on tv just to entertain the mindless masses. reality tv is shit, but setting people up just to send them to jail, and to humiliate not only them but their entire families..... i can't argue on behalf of the guys, of course, they are doing something really wrong. but jesus....just because i dont condone their behavior doesnt mean they're the only bad guys. its perfectly natural to be attracted to people under the age of 18, so long as they're sexually developed (post-puberty....the actual age will vary individually) and i dont think its sick simply to have a sexual relationship with a mature minor who fits into this category....that said i do believe the law is just and is there to protect young folks from some rather sick individuals who would take advantage of them....but its still natural for people to be attracted to younger people, even if its illegal, if the person is developed enough, and its not at all unusual to have such desires. just because some depraved individuals have done some terrible things doesnt mean everyone who would like to sleep with a younger girl is some disgusting monster. they're still human.... i dont condone people having such relationships, but i do understand the urge, and i dont think every single one of them is necessarily a bad person. a person with poor judgment, yes. but evil? not always. and i certainly dont think that just because they're taking POTENTIAL criminals to jail strictly for entertainment means they're doing any kind of public service. everyone knows internet stings exist and they're foolish for hooking up online like that. putting it on national television is no more of a deterrent to crime than the death penalty is. its not going to help the situation at all....its purely to entertain americans by letting them watch real life suffering of people, justified purely because these people are deemed immoral. i really find the show, and many similar shows (say, COPS) to be appalling.
I’m just waiting for one of these foreigners to claim Diplomatic Immunity Also, WTF is up with that Alabama cop with enough guns to nuke arnold swartznegger Hotwater
i agree, actually most of the men are asked if they have seen the show and a lot of them say they have cops isn't as bad, because the people choose if they want to have their face on tv or not (20/20 doesnt requiare them to give permission because they are a "news" show) and (most of the time) the cops arent setting people up to get caught.
Blurring a face out doesn't guarantee anonynimity--there is still the persons body, car, voice, house and more that could easily give away who they are. What bothers me most about such shows is that they encourage a disdain and mistrust for the fellow man, while encouraging a love for law and trust to authority.
in the case of the face blurring: wihtout seeing their face you can't be 100% sure it's them in almost any case as for the morality of the shows: it's pretty sick to get entertained by bad things happening to other people (I like the show myself :tongue as for if these people deserve the humiliation: why not? whatever happens to whomever should be allowed to be published if you ask me
You just summed it right up. Right on! I have never seen the show, let alone heard of it as I don't watch TV. But when I first read this I had a feeling it's like most of the other garbage on TV. What you said confirms that gut feeling I had.
I think it's funny also. Most of the men on there... when they show their chat logs and stuff- it's amazing how horrible their spelling is- like tonight one of them had spelled "enough" "enif" and not just that but the screen names they chose.
i dislike tv...unless it's educational cause baby i love educational tv and um...yeah... mhhmm :leaving:
I love seeing the looks on the faces of the idiots who get caught.... it's just the funniest thing in the world.
You know..someone that never even showed up to one of those things but talked online shot himself when they came to his door to arrest him. He was a DA.
