    Hello All.

I was looking at a dread refresher and checked out the ingredients and made my own at home for a fraction of the price. We go out fairly regularly and anywehre you go, you know your dreads take that smell home.. so...the dread refresher smells nice and I (personally) like how my dreads feel afterwards. It isn't a substitute for washing (you just can't get that fresh puffy dread thing w/o the washing) but it's nice for in between washes.

    I use:

    8 oz spray bottle
    Tea Tree Oil
    Peppermint Oil
    Grapefruit Oil
    Aloe

    Water

Drop about 5-10 drops each peppermint and grapefruit. Go easy on the tea tree unless you really like that smell. I use about 1/2 of what I use for the other oils (3-5 drops tea tree) because I do not like the smell and when you use this small amount, you can't smell it.
I then put a dash of aloe juice and fill the rest of the bottle with water. Shake well and spritz lightly. (Do not soak, this is a spritz-and-go thing)

Tea tree oil has the anti-bacterial properties, peppermint smells nice and grapefruit is citrusy and cleansing.
Essential oils may seem expensive at first but they last a very long time. I have had my bottle of peppermint for over 3 years and it is still very potent.

Try it and let me know what you think!

    Hi,
Do you live in the UK? Because I get mine from superdrug, aroun £1.49 for 10ml. Or Quality Save for under a pound!! They do 20ml bottles of eucalyptus oil in qs for a quid too!:)

You can probably leave it out if it's too expensive. Mine will last forever since I can't stand the stuff and only use a few drops!
