This probably belongs in the Movies forum, but for some reason the Movies forum won't load on my computer right now (?!) so I thought I'd post it here. Does anyone else think this film might have the best dialouge of any film, ever? Paul Schreader wrote some of the most memorable and hilarious conversations ever, IMO: Peter Boyle laying his sagely wisdom about life on Robert DeNiro, the conversation with the secret service agent, as well as with the presidential candidate. Plus all those great lines: "Midgets are funny. Sometimes I like to hold a midge", "I should get a sign that says one of these days I'm gonna get organizized", "why don't you go out, get drunk, get laid, do anything; I envy you your youth", "now that's a nice gun; that's a beautiful little gun, look at that", etc. I must have watched this film 30 times, but I don't think I'll be pulling a Hinckley any time soon.
Wow.... I saw that movie so long ago. It is good- I wanna see it again so I just added it to my queue for blockbuster online. Thanks!
I think everyone should see Taxi Driver at least once. one of the best (maybe the best?) films by one of the best modern directors...
