I think you should focus more on your English classes and not worry so much about making homemade tattoo guns...

honestly, I would avoid it competely. Preventing himself from fucking too badly could easiliy turn into him blaming you for letting him do it, or into a legal problem if there are serious medical issues that result from it. avoid.

This is an UBER bad idea. There is a lot to know about cleanliness, how to put the ink into skin, and artistic theory.

That said, you can buy tattoo inks online. That would probably be the best, but, in this case, the best is still bad.

Like I said, this is NOT a good idea. I wouldn't have any part of this if I were you.

    peace

Its obviously a bad idea but despite what people say on here you will probly do it anyways(right?)So if you are going to do it, make sure everything is clean(which is quite hard when you dont have an autoclave)

Alot of the black inks on the market now are just concentrated india ink, so if you are going the india ink way just concentrate it to about 4 times. Its very cheap for ink online though.

Keep it simple, dont go trying something advanced, and when your friend messes up himself he can come to me for a cover-up:) , Just Jokin.

    Good Luck On That

Here is a link to one and there many ways to do it, and how i built mine, which is a little different than this.
    http://www.instructables.com/id/EXST1ETDDOEQ2W3CNJ/

I have many tats and most have been done with guns that i built. If you dont mind a lot of pain and uneven lines then here's what you do.
First, you need an electric motor from a tape recorder or an r/c car. Then you need to a frame to mount the motor to. A toothbrush handle, heated and bent at the top at a 90 degree angle works ok. Use a small hose clamp to attach the motor to the frame. now you need a cog from the tape recorder that will fit tight on the motor shaft so you have something to put your needle shaft into. Next you need a pen tube thats tapered. Use a small hose clamp to to attach it to the frame below the motor and cog, this will allow you to adjust the amount of needle length for the tattooing . You will need a coat hanger to make a shaft to hold the needle. Length will vary depending on the frame, cog and tube. Heat a piece of hanger and make a hole in the cog near the edge but not too close. Bend the piece of hanger at one end at a 90 degree angle and trim so the short end fits in the hole in the cog and the long end fits the length of the tube with play at the end, as you still have to attach a sewing needle to the end of the shaft. You can do this by using superglue to tack the needle to the shaft, then wrap it in sewing thread and glue again. The final piece is a adjustable low voltage transformer to control the motor speed, and you will have to figure out how to attach the wire leads to the motor.
Now the ink you can buy at any blueprint/art supply store. Buy opaque inks except for the black. Your best bet is to spend a little money, 50 to 100 bucks for a pro to do the work or you will be sorry when your tat fades, bleeds colors or you get a nasty infection and doesnt heal right. If you just want something small pay the money for a pro and if you want something big dont use a homemade rig as you WILL be sorry you did that.

Make him aware that if he gets it even the slightest bit wrong (and he will) he could wind up with (for example) cellulitis, which could hospitalise, or even kill him.

If that doesn't put him off this ridiculous, nonsensical idea, then nothing will.

One question, though: if you konow what an infernally stupid idea this is, why the fuck are you helping him out? You will both be in a heap of trouble if anything goes wrong (which is an extremely strong possibility, with unsterile equipment, and no experience). You may even be prosecuted.

Have some sense; let him get on with it alone. Don't make it your problem.

    Jeez.

A fifty-fifty combo of cyanide and used motor oil usually make a good sturdy ink.

haha that was the funniest thing i have heard all day, in a sad way because it is right!!!

I would practice on all sorts of shit.......... fruits, ald suede shit from the thrift sho[p, even some old leather biker jackets to get used to all sorts of skinlike surfaces...................... but I would never tattoo myself, I am not coordinated enough to do anything like that

Yeah, I have a blob of shit on my ankle that's supposed to be a star, too.

Good thing graphite and sharpie fades. XD Y'know, I think if I had a chance to live my young(er) stupid days all over, I'd do the same things all over again. Makes for fun stories.
