Hey there hip forumers! I am very much liking the pics of you all, they all look great. Im looking for a little help with a tattoo design. Wonder if any of you can help me? Its technically like branding me! Lol Anyways I want this tattoo on the back of may wrist, where all the veins pass. Lol Basically I have a little idea in my head but cant capitalise on it because I suck at drawing! Anyways the idea is a black and red tattoo, some sort of curvy/spikey piece. The tattoo wont go very far up my arm but there will be a part that comes from it and to the back of my hand, stopping just before my thumb. Can anyone help???? If you can then reply here or PM me and we can chat about it. Fankooooo Gilby
I agree with DSOTM. Your best bet is seeing the artist whose works/artist style matches your design. Also keep in mind that someone's good idea of an artist may not be what you're looking for. Tattooing is an art and again, each artist more or less has developed their own style or designs that they find they are very good in or specialize/love doing. Have a look at their portfolios. They should have them available in the shop for customers. Don't be afraid to ask questions about ink colours (there are different types of black ink for example), questions about size, and a quote on how much it will cost you. Most places have free consultations but you must have a good idea of what you want enough to describe it FULLY. Tell them what matters most in the design, what the meaning is behind it - what they have the freedom to play with and what they don't (because it's what you want, not them). Take their advice if the design you have in mind is too small to be tattooed. I'm mentioning this because sometimes on a small place like the wrist, we can get a little carried away with detail that just gets blurred over the years.
Hey guys. Thank you both for your advice tho it is nothing i havent already considered, but thanks nonetheless. I have no major idea as to what i want really and though that it might be fun for other people on this forum to put their designs across to me. I was just thinking that seems as all on this area are so keen on body art, it might be a good way of finding my design and help me meet new people on here. Just an idea, and i really do appreciate both of your comments DSTM & Hannah. Gilby. P.S - Still open to design ideas
thanks for that DSOTM. You have a very good point there about the google thing. thanks a lot man, you have been V helpful
