I started these the September before last, so they are about 1.5 years old.

Wow, those are great! I love the kinked one on the right side of the second picture. Are they all natural or back-combed?

 

they started out backcombed and I semi-maintin them but they tighten most when I leave them alone. I just try to sew loose ends in, etc.

I backcombed too, gonna let them be for the most part. Though recently near the roots it seems to be coming undone a good inch or two.

Did you have that problem? I figured I'd let it be rather than try fixing em..

Answering questions: (and thank you for the compliments)

Dont worry about the tips. My hair is pretty straight and I am fine with the fact that my tips may never dread. It actually feels nice to have the ends soft and the middle dreaded. If it happens, it happens

Root question: yes my roots straighten out a bit. I try to rub them clockwise to tighten them up to prevent this but it happens. I guess they will dread when they grow out
