Public transport is wank, especially when Stagecoach is allowed to geta way with monopolising the bus services around here. Evil bastards. My bus route is one of the most expensive routes pound-per-mile in the country. Daylight robbery!

I'd rather hitch than take the bus.

I don't know. I think services generally took a nosedive after privatisation of the buses and trains, but after lots of government investment (into a privatised industry:rolleyes: ) the trains and buses have been noticeably improving (in the south at least) for the past few years. I've been a regular public transport user for the past ten years and I think things are probably marginally better now than they were a decade ago, though I'm also pretty sure that prices have risen well above inflation, without a corresponding dramatic increase in service frequency or reliability.

I had to get a bus yesterday £4.80 return!! I almost died. It's barely even a 14 mile journey.
