I just went for a three hour walk in the rain with my dear Matt, who introduced me to a trail I've never taken before. The snow is melting and it has been significantly warmer as of late. Anyhow, I know my legs are going to hurt tomorrow... I miss being outside.
Isn't it such a magical feeling?! My friend, Laurie, and I went barefooting one day when I lived in Alberta (last summer sometime) and we ended up wandering down this trail we'd never been on before for hours! It was just barely raining and the path was pretty much unoccupied by anyone else, the flowers were out and the plants were oddly green...by the time we turned around I was in love!
Barefooting in nature is one of the most enjoyable things. It makes one very observant to everything going on in nature. I've never gone back to shoes. Free online book: http://members.aol.com/bhthom/hikertxt.htm .
