I didnt see any evidence of free energy anywhere. Like you said, it is a matter of induction.

For instance, I could stick two metal electrodes into the ground with some distance in between and get electricity. Free energy? I think not, rather just gaussian currents (I think that is the name for them, it has been a while...).
