Hello! I lost contact with a buddy from Liverpool England.

One of the things I miss is him and his girlfriend Dolly (not her real name) singing the Liverpool football cheer song.

It was about a soldier on the field dieing – dieing and then what he said – I’m from Liverpool – I like to drink – I like to fight….. Any way it was a pretty catchy song and I wouldn’t mind getting the words to that song for a hoot. Also I would really like to catch this guy at one of his fibs the next time I see him so I can say balluks to him. He claims he was a star player for the Liverpool team a while back and figured if I gave his name some one could tell me if he really was. Cheers!

    A little of topic.

That link to the 1973 FA cup final you posted had the Sunderland supporters singing 'You Never Walk Alone' like a male Welsh quior, tens of thousands strong. I didn't know that. I've always thought it a Liverpool song, only.

Thank you for the quick reply. My buddy also told me there was a bit of history or folk lore to the soldier who was laying on the field dying is that true and if so what was it please.

Green and white, great colours for a football team, it just needs a flash of gold. It'll be all red and white when Sunderland beat Hull this weekend, apparantly Saint Patrick is doing the announcements. But he said he could only come over for the weekend and might be really busy come Saturday, but who knows.[IMG]

I do want to wind my buddy up a bit - but if I tell him, “liverpools ground anfield was originally evertons ground”. Would those be fighting words? (He loves Liverpool – Ay) Cheers!

Thanks – I could hit that guy with 4 wet fishes and he would just keep coming. These few post about him have made me want to track him down and have some fun. Cheers!
