Koei continues to pump out it's Dynasty/Samurai/Romance of the Three Kingdoms games and folk like me keep buyn' them.

I'm a big fan of the Warrior serise. Think it was Dynasty War. 3 were I got hooked. A great little hack n' slash game, as were most of the rest.

Then they started coming out with the Empire games. It's a great combo of the Romance games with strategy and provincial cultivation as well as the hack n' slash. You start off controlling one fief and conquor your way to rulership.

This Sam 2 Empires has a some nice upgrades from the Dynasty version. You can cultivate and sell your horses. You can win without full military victory by political manuevering. Being good to your citizens actually means something. And there's a feature for sort of a mini-game incase you don't want to go through the long haul process of ruling Japan, you can just play a 5 fief provinical game.

I haven't tried officer creation yet.

I know lots of folk who don't care for these games or the fact that it's just building a better mousetrap over and over again but I can't help it - I could slaughter the hordes of asia for an eternity. Keep 'em coming Koei, this one was pretty sweet.
