I want amnesia. I want manufactured memories. I tried to believe. Faith Hope Love Despair I’m ready for joy. Can I have joy if I remember? Each day… Each day…
This is what I was talking about with that other kid's poem. This is a specific feeling, one that we all know - and you have conveyed it nicely, without clutter. Description is good for prose, which is the television of writing (in all of the good ways but few of the bad.) However, poetry rides very much on connotation and, more importantly, suggestion, which is most easily achieved by judicious word selection. _
yea man i get what your saying...but in my opinion i think clutter can work with poetry well too. like just writing down whatever...there is a certain wave of honesty that comes through with it...dig? each to his own i guess.
Agreed. I like trying contrasting styles though. As long as it flows out of you. Minimalist ideas can flow just like anything else. I do enjoy a good word laden improvisational mental riff. It's cathartic. And, with luck, it's sometimes readable.
