I've been on the lookout for quite some time for a yummy smelling oil or perfume-type thing I could wear. A "signature scent", if you will. ;) Problem is, nothing seems quite right to me. I want something sweet, but not sickly sweet, you know? Every time I've seen/smelled/been around it, I've really dug amber patchouli. Not so much either one by themselves, but the "amber patchouli"/"patchouli amber" scent that's bottled sometimes (I don't know if this is a straight mix between the two oils, or if it's something else entirely...)

Some flowery smells are all right, but most of them smell too sugary for me. Vanilla can be good, in moderation. I can't stand "rainforest" or similarly themed smells, they make me want to hurl. Like I said, I want something that smells good but on the DL. Something I can apply lightly and people won't immediately smell "hippie" when I enter the room. But that could be noticed and appreciated when I'm hugging, etc.

Anyhoo, the point of all this rambling was that I can't seem to find anything right around my local area. I was wondering if any of you mamas are into making/packaging scents and could make something along those lines for me? (For a reasonable price, or trade for glass, of course...) Please respond here or PM me. :)

can't help ya much there... I'm not much of a perfumy type of person. But I have heard of people somehow mixing essential oils with some kind of carrier and using that as perfume, if that helps..... ?

I don't know if you have a Body Shop in your area, or if you are more looking for something homemade, but they make some really nice scents that are all compatiable. I wear a BeLeaf/Aztique combo. The BeLeaf is (shockingly enough) leafy smelling, and the Aztique smells kinda spicy... its a good combo. They all smell really clean and fresh, not all chemically.

    They also have some oils...

here is the link, if interested.

I make my scents exactly how Cerridwen said. I mix my essential oils with a carrier.

    Amber/Lemongrass is pretty nice.
    I'm currently wearing a patcholi/vetiver/almond oil(carrier)

I don't know if you've tried Eden Botanicals amber/patchouli, but it really rocks, IMO...not made by one of our wonderful hip mamas here at the forums, but great nonetheless...it can be purchased off the web: www.edenbotanicals.com

I would be interested also in finding out what scents some of the folks around here make...I love natural scents (earthy...amber, patchouli, vetiver, etc.) too, and always love to experiment.... :)

I like lemon, orange, pink grapefruit, geranium, bergamot, lime... mix about 3 drops of essential oil each in a 1 oz. bottle of carrier oil.... I also make spray perfume out of this blend.... smells really nice...
