    Hello everyone

pardon my english, im from holland, but i really need your help here :)

its just since a year that I'm collecting nice songs from the sixties or early seventies and still I have the idea im missing out on some treasures. what Im looking for is laidback, 'hippie songs & anthems', but preferably not 'too country' or the ones played over and over on the radiostations (well ok just a few then like mr tambourine man by the byrds, beautifull people by melanie or white rabbit by jefferson airplane to give a hint) here's a list of songs I really really like up till now on my quest for these tracks

    - my hope's on you to fill this list to discover more nice songs in this style:

    - arlo guthrie - chilling of the evening
    - crosby stills & nash - guinnevere
    - jerry jeff walker - maybe mexico
    - jesse winchester - mississippi you're on my mind
    - joni mitchell - dawntreader
    - richie havens - here comes the sun
    - savoy brown - stay while the night is young
    - tim hardin - reason to believe
    - sir douglas quintet - i don“t want to go home
    - cowboy - please be with me
    - jefferson airplane - third week in the chelsea
    - ralph mctell - streets of london
    - the animals - san franciscan night
    - crazy horse - i don't want to talk about it
    - cravinkel - smiles

well thanx in advance for filling this list with the most beautifull songs you know from this amazing and lovely era in music. :)

Hey man, I'm from Friesland, so I'm your neighbour. ;)

    - Bob Dylan - Love minus zero/No limit
    - Sandy Denny & the Strawbs - Nothing else will do
    - Davey Graham - songs like Leaving blues, his version of Hoochie coochie man, Getting better or I'm ready
    - Country Joe - Bass strings or Flying high (check out the 1998 versions with the Bevis Frond, it has the same atmosphere but better sound, I really recommend it)
    - Love - A house is not a motel
    - Bert Jansch - Promised land
    - Les Humphries Singers - To my fathers house
    - Steeleye Span - Lowlands of Holland, well they have a lot of laid back folk rock songs
    - Magna Carta - Wish it was, Two old friends
    - Fairport Convention - Autopsy, Matty Groves etc.
    - Ewan MacColl - Ballad of Accounting
    - Pentangle - Light flight, Way behind the sun, Sovay

I guess you know Scott McKenzie, the Mama's & the Papa's and the Jefferson Airplane songs, so I leave it with this first. Let me hear what you liked most. :)

    - sixto rodriquez - hate street dialogue / sugarman
    - jesse winchester - mississippi you're on my mind
    - john martyn - don't want to know
    - joni mitchell - dawntreader
    - neil young - old man
    - simon and garfunkel - the 59th street bridge song (feelin groovy)
    - steamhammer - fran and dee take a ride
