One time we had a big fire going in a wood and some cider and ended up jumpin around to 'The Whistler' by Jethro Tull. I'd call it dancing - but no-one else would if they saw it well?
just about any live music i go see.. lotta jamgrass and and jamband.. especially Trampled By Turtles.. they deffinately get you up and jumping
I get up, and nothing gets me down. You got it tough. I’ve seen the toughest around. And I know, baby, just how you feel. You’ve got to roll with the punches to get to what’s real Oh can’t you see me standing here, I’ve got my back against the record machine I ain’t the worst that you’ve seen. Oh can’t you see what I mean ? Might as well jump. jump ! Might as well jump. Go ahead, jump. jump ! Go ahead, jump. Aaa-ohh hey you ! how said that ? Baby how you been ? You say you don’t know, you won’t know Until we begin. Well can’t you see me standing here, I’ve got my back against the record machine I ain’t the worst that you’ve seen. Oh can’t you see what I mean ? Might as well jump. jump ! Go ahead, jump. Might as well jump. jump ! Go ahead, jump. (guitar solo) (keyboard solo) Might as well jump. jump ! Go ahead, jump. Get it and jump. jump ! Go ahead, jump.
Hey - I played keyboards for that song in many a band. Hey - I rode BMX over many a firepit to that song 's a good song - women and children first is better though Quote 'Excentrifugal Forz' lyrics by Frank Zappa on an appropiate thread and I'll send you a pound via paypal
Magneto and Titanium Man, by Paul McCartney and Wings, on the Venus and Mars album...although I guess you'd say it's more of a hopping song than a jumping song. And Fluid Rouge, MagicalMysteryGirl's band.
I lived in Scotland for a year and i went into a pub one morning to be told 'YOUR'E BARRED MATE!' - apparently I had been dancing on a table to some Celtic fiddling band the night before and they took exception to this I thought I was being traditional!
Funny you mentioned The Whistler.. I can vaguely remember a chat with a good friend about how that is the absolute perfect song to dance naked to. Ah, Jethro.. I love Jethro. I still adore Bouree, though, for no particular reason.. just a gorgeous song. Also, has anyone heard You Make Me Real by The Doors? Not exactly folk but being a huge Doors fan I had to mention how that song turns me into a jumping maniac.
"Let me slide into your tender, sunken sea.. Make me free love, make me freeee.. YEAHHH.. you make me real, alright.." Couldn't resist..!
