I dont know if any of you have used google maps before, but what it does is allow you to see satellite photographs of where you live. You can type in your address and look at your house if you wanted, but ive been using it lately to get a good idea of some areas near me that would be suitable for growing. it mostly only has clear pictures for populated areas and the surrounding sections, but i have found it goes out about 5-40 miles of any city.

its pretty interesting and you can see a ton of trails and where they go, i was able to print a picture, drive to the location, and stand right where i was looking at. its kick ass because you can see where all the roads are, the trails people use and where they go (and where they dont go :) ).

http://maps.google.com - zoom in and out on the left, and on the top right you can select hybrid viewing. it highlights roads for you... plus shows you the actual earth. and its free!

I found where I smoke near my neighbourhood on this map.

It looks like theres a puff of smoke right where we usually would be, I don't know what else it could be. It's a bridge that goes right over a creek, if you're curious. It's nice to sit there and toke because natures around you, plus it's like 100ft from my front door, so it's easy to get to. Theres also a rope swing hanging from a poison oak tree (probably not the best idea) and it's super fun to swing on that when you're baked, it swings out over a cliff into a deeper and faster running river than where the bridge is.

If this makes no sense, it's because I took 6 extra strength pain killers for my arm, and im stoned out of my gourd.

    Peace

Oh yeah check out this picture too eh?

i have google earth as well but i think the website is just the same thing without the interface. and its easier because the whole section is in focus instead of a spherical portion, plus there is no download required to use it
