Shoegaze(i.e. My Bloody Valentine, ect)

i actually like this band....unfortunately they have disbanded.
kind of a weird instrumental sound they had!
yea i mean i guess TRUE shoegaze is that sound that was from the early 90's and not really any bands today are sounding exactly like that sound. there are some many tags out there it all gets jumbled anyway, so i say there are two genres "good" and "bad" heh.

 

what about catherine wheel or ride? swervedriver? Loop? Chapterhouse? would Yo La Tengo be put under shoegaze? maybe not.

Maybe you haven't heard of Th' Faith healers but they are good too. Pale Saints...

 

Chatherine's Wheel sucks. It's boring drone music with a mediocre singer who sounds like anyone else.

 

okay fair enough, I like them. Though I ONLY have Chrome, it is possible their other stuff sucks.

but what about other groups I listed??

 

oooh shoegaze. i love shoegaze Slowdive, Ride, Lush, Should, early Verve, MBV.... its so beautiful, there's a lyric from Alison: 'cuz I'm just floating'.... Thats how I feel about shoegaze in general and in specific Slowdive since they were the first band to introduce to the genre.... But I owe that to the film maker Gregg Araki, the first few minutes of film Splendor had a beautiful tune by Slowdive... I listened to it endlessly and as I began to watch more of his movies I started dabbling in the soundtracks... oh shoegaze truly is out of sight.

I've always felt this song to be shoegaze-ish. It happens to be one of my favorite psychedelic songs of all time.
