depends who you know... I was sixteen and got my eyebrow pierced by a friend who had the right stuff. but id never get my tongue pierced by anyone but a professional... I think any age if you have parental consent tho'
18 or 16ish with parental consent in Alaska. I said 16ish because there seems to be no real state law as to how young a kid can be with their parents consent. After my daughter attempted a self belly button peircing at 13 I asked aroung and found a peircing place that would do her at 14 base on her size and state of physical development. They did not want to do a belly button peircing on someone that was going to grow more and cause the peirced are to stretch. It was interetsing that I could have authorized major surgery easier than authorizing a peircing. Since she was my step daughter, even being legally adopted by me, my wife had to authorize it. Since her last name is different that her daughters she had to get notarized maternity documentation before they would peirce her. They were just covering their asses, but I had to chuckle.
I thought it was 16 without a parent, cause I got my bellybutton done at 14 with mom's signing and my friend got her nipples done at 16 without her parents. I think it depends on the place, too, so you might wanna call around!
i would get all peircings done by a pofessional. ive had one by a friend and its fine, and they can be.. but especally in eyebrows there are mayjors nerves, veins and arteries that should not be hit.

I'm almost 100% sure that LEGALLY, it's 18 in the States, 16 in Canada... Europe, I'm not sure, but I think it's 16 there, too. And any shop that will pierce you underage is not worth going to. That said, it IS respectable for a shop to do it with parental consent. I mean, a good piercer doesn't want some determined 14-16 year old kid piercing themselves with sewing needles and bad jewelry, right?
well you can get certain piercings here (uk) from any age with parental consent, although most reputable piercers wont do it till you are at least 14 and you have ID and a parent with ID stood there to sign the consent forms
from a semi pro, ( i say semi cause i got the stuff but still savin up for the shop location) 18 in most places, morals and values are a must to look for in a piercer. if they will pierce anything and everything no matter what age, i always say stay away. cause if they do it likethat they just want the money, they aren't in it for the beautify of modification. and if your younger and unaccomanied by an adult they may take short cuts, and short cuts are never good. and it doesn't matter what the state law says, if it says parental consent if under 18 some ppl won't even do that. i won't pierce anybody anywhere under 13, and from 13 to 18 they have to have a parent present. all you have to do is call the shop your instrested in and ask what their rules are. though i would personally go in and look at the place, you can tell alot about the piercer on just how the shop is set up and what it looks like. now i dont'want kids going out and piercing them selves with safty pins and what not, that almost always ends up horrible. I see parents bringing in their teens to the shop ( i work at one just not my own) who have pierced something themselves and its being rejected or its infected or well much much worse, and they want to know what they should do. buttheir are rules for ar eason and kids will do as they please when left alone. just call around, then check em out. thats all you ca really do.
when i was pierced i never needed any consent forms or ID... but then i got my nose piercing when i was 16... hmmm.

Here, they never ask for ID as long as you don't look like your obviously twelve. I've been getting piercings since I was 13 without any consent!
