yes erzebet1961 and I have opened this new forum, because we felt there was a bit of a gap, so do pop in and say hello and contribute.

I'm glad a different forum has been openned for this. I am bisexual, and not at all transgendered. I am certain that there must be plenty of people that are transgendered and not at all gay or bi. I get annoyed by how these issues are confused in the mind of the general public and I think it causes much confusion and hostility. So thanks for opening the new forum and trying to bring understanding to the matter.

The issues sort of make sense together in the sense of being connected for activisty purposes. When people are harassed for being gay/bi, it's often because of their *percieved* sexual orientation, which is often based upon their gender expression [i.e. a man talking with a lisp and a limp wrist is considered effeminate and thus he must be gay or a woman with short hair playing on a football team is considered masculine and is therefore a lesbian]. Being transgendered is lumped together with being gay and bi because the issues that LGBT people have to fight for are completely intertwined.

Even though i am not a trasexual or transgender I think these forums are a great idea..I personaly admire trasexual and trasgender people, for the corrage it takes to wake up and face their lives and adversercity, everyday and it not break them down... Life isnt and shouldnt be about who is which way or what.. it should be about what a person is like on the inside. But as the world we live in is not always nice.. these forums should help anyone who is transgender or transexual to open up and feel like they have freinds becuase they do no matter the inside or out.

 

What is the differnce between transexual and transgendered if i may ask?
