Hi all. Just had a question regarding meditation.

Firstly I have heard that deep experienced proper meditation can infact be an access point to connect to the "universal mainframe" as some people put it.
I have heard in some cases one can get so tuned into the other state that they can connect with spirits.

I believe this may have some truth to it. My question is: Do you people believe meditation can make one more in contact with that state of conciousness? (god, the spiritual realm, unconciousness, euphoria, the universe call it what you like) bear in mind it would be no doubt if it was possible, the person doing it would of course be very experienced and used to that state. Please your thoughts on this people and any information if possible. Thx.

Meditation can be very cleansing. Right now it's the only way I can get to God. I lost my 18 yr nephew back in Oct. We were very close and it has been hard for me to deal with. If it wasn't for meditation, I would be a basket case by now.

Not every time I meditate do I reach that spiritual realm, but when I do, great healing takes place. One of the keys, is the experience. Like anything, it takes meditating regularly. I have "talked" with my nephew a few times when meditating. I'm sure some people would say that it was my sub-conscious wanting to be near him, but it wasn't. I remember one time asking him something and getting an unexpected response.

We only use a small portion of our brain in daily activity. Imagine what is capable if we develop more of our brain.

Hello Pai Pantha sorry to hear about your Nephew.

Can I ask how long on average it took you to really master meditation and get towards thes spiritual side of meditation?

I hope I don't sound rude or harsh, but I'm just going to be realistic: what did you think the point of meditation was? The name Yoga itself has many translations but ultimately it means the yoking of your mind with that of God's through expelling excess acitivites of the mind. It seems, at least to me, the names of these things directly imply a state of communion with the divine.

But don't be disappointed if you don't have a vision the first time you sit for five minutes on your comfy pillow.
