Why did he take you off the pill? Sometimes I just use condoms when I'm off my pill and nothings happened yet...I guess just make sure it says on the packaging that it's safe to use with condoms so it doesnt have anything in it that will break it down.

That's all I've really ever used for bc, in about eight years of being sexually active with men. I've tried the pill (a few times, different dosages, etc) and they always came with some side effect I couldn't stand. The first couple/few years I was active was mostly with females, and didn't regularly have sex with men anyway. But my partner and I have been together for well over 5 years now - no baby, no hints of one. The condom seems to work fine.

one good thing about condoms is that they are a method which very clearly involves both parties. When women take charge entirely of bc (often with hormonal methods, though there are plenty of others) I've seen it happen so many times, that when/if an unplanned pregnancy occurs, it's always "her fault". I know not all men or relationships are like this, but like I said, I've seen it before, many times... With condoms, it's nice to know that we're both involved in our fertility - we both make the decisions together, and if/when an unplanned pregnancy occurs, there will never be any doubt that it was *nobody's* "fault". :)

Good luck, mama, I hope you find a comfortable solution!

condoms are the best, i wish i had worn one with the last one i was with :p spermicide causes yeast infection and doesn't really work in the body, great for killing sperm in a petri dish though

i got taken off BC pills too. i cant take any hormal contriceptives including the implant, injection or those coils that release hormones. my body just dosent like them & makes me extreamly violent. i tryed almost every kind of contriceptive pill you can find & they all did exactley the same thing to me. i dont have a clue how me & my fiance got through those first few years of our relationship because i was so nasty, but he told me he knew it was just the pills.

If you don't like condoms (I hate them, I think I'm allergic) then try NaturaLamb condoms, they are made out of lamb skin (I know that sounds gross, I'm a vegetarian too) but they feel like nothing.. they only prevent pregnancy though, not STDs.
