My favourite Tool lyrics: " I like to watch fish fry, from a safe distance".

I myself... hmm... The one band that I have probably never ever been bored, not even for a second, is The Velvet Underground, and Bowie... hmm... and Modest Mouse... and a lot of Russian rock, and hmm... and Manu Chao...and The Pixies.

    I need to stop.

Has Maynard put out a song that I didn't hear? No. Didn't think so. You need to re-listen to that, immediately. RIGHT FUCKING NOW I SAID!!!!

I've heard that song all summer...

It's "I like to watch fish fry, from a safe distance, I cry my eyes in awe, of the fish scales."

I honestly don't know why they called it "Vicarious".

Plus, "The Pot" has nothing to do with the thing I cook pasta in.

    Odd.

I couldn't really pick a favorite. My taste in music differs from day to day. Sometimes my favorite is Marley, and then some days I can't stop listening to Alice in Chains. Then I'll get back into some Pink Floyd and they'll be my favorite. Hell there's been times where Slipknot is my favorite, and many times where Slightly Stoopid comes out on top. G-Love, Skynyrd, Pepper, Zeppelin, the Doors, Tool, Steve Miller, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and even the Bloodhound Gang have all come in top spots, among many more....it all depends on what I'm in the mood for.

Lately I've been obsessed with Belle & Sebastian.

    I don't limit myself to a "favorite".

well you know in one sense, i'm tempted to name bands who have at least some members who are people i've run into in other contexts in the course of ordinary everyday life. some of whome ARE actualy pretty darn good. luxumberger the skunk is actualy pretty good. as is 'the little band' and other combinations mikael participates in. and mumbo gumbo who are also local.

on the other hand, my favorite music that i like to listen to, a lot of it is by people, i can't even remember the name of the band, what they call themselves.

and then there's so many and i have such a hard time with names anyway.

my favorites of all time from waaay back were moody blues and tangarene dream. that latter still arround and doing great stuff. the former from time to time partialy resusitated, but i haven't heard anything NEW from them to equal what they did in the day (much of the credit for which perhapse belongs to 'their backup group' the london philharmonic!)

my favorite pieces individualy, that i've been listning to lately, and i have no idea how new or old they are, i've mentioned before as owl song or something owl or owl something, by, or on the alblum, gemini wolf, and something called gaku raku by a group in japan calling themselves s.h.i.n.t.o.

there's also something called electropica which is pretty good, by i don't know who, which isn't the name of the band, although that might just make a pretty good one.

there's even one thing, i forget the name of, by an outfit calling themselves radioactive sandwich. which most of the rest of there stuff isn't all that great to me.

of course moe and cosmic wobble, fish, cheese, and so on, well that's the problem, when i get to trying to name bands, well there's michael ferrante, however his name is spelt. and then there's most of the stuff i listen to, by contrast, is glacialy chilled tecno ambient, with maybe a little bit of a beat, but generaly not overdoing it the way trance does. people like yanni and kitaro, steven helpern, a produce, constance denby, yatri, eagle dances with the wind, coyote oldman, mary youngblood, robert myrabal, kimberly bass, ...

    =^^=
