one of the classics! jack nicholson is superb as usual, and an excellent supporting cast. sadly we don't see many movies like this nowdays.

the story behind the creation of the book is interesting. ken kesey was working as a janitor at an asylum and he did his writing during the long nightshift. he also used the opportunity to consume large quantities of mescalin, stolen from the doctor's office.

the image of an asylum run by a fascist nurse makes a nice metaphor for the united states at the time. still relevant now? you bet.

My favorite book and movie! I absolutely love Nicholson.... and Martini is fucking hysterical. Louise Fletcher is amazing as well, the combination of calm and cold hate in her eyes during the entire movie drills into you...

This movie is awesome. Jack Nicholson gives the best performance in this that I think I've ever seen. The World Series scene is fantastic.

I did really like the movie, but I heard so much hype about it before I saw it I was just a TAD disappointed. Only because my expectations were inconceivable. Otherwise I REALY enjoyed it, parts were HILARIOUS and parts were SOOOO sad.

the books are always going to be better than the movies because they need to cut out soo much to fit the story in a 2 hour or so movie
the book has been one of my favorites for a long time, and the movie is wonderful too
just an awesome story, ya know.
