My husband son and me are moving from Colorado to NC in a few months. Colorado has become way too expensive and stressful day to day grind. It looks like NC would be alot more affordable. We want to live coastal - dont want way too yuppied out. We are looking for a nice lower income urban nieghborhood with a good liberal view of the world! A place where i can walk out my door and find some great shops, parks and great things to do. We are looking at Wilmington and Moorehead City. I don't know anything about these areas - but my husband is a trucker and both places have an intermodal area for him to use his rig. Any suggestions? :)

Im not to sure what the cost of living is in Co. but Wilmington is not cheap in my opinin. At least not for the areas that have the type of things you are looking for. If price were no option I would tell you Southport (Wilmington Area) but the Big money buyers have figured the little sleepy fishing village out. Either way, I have been happy with Wilmington area. Their are some nice places to spend time outside, and you wont upset about the weather. I came from ohio and its much better. Comming from Co. That may be a big advantage.
