Swim is wondering about turning something into a "hydrate" all they have read on
said matter just refers to "in presance of water, such&such becomes a hydrate"
what does presance of water mean?swim wonders is water added or what?
    Thanks for any advice

'hydrate' is a bit of a broad term in and of itself, what it is exactly depends on the context.

But basically it means that the substance has had water molecules incorporated into it.

    i.e. 'just add water'
    heh
