Methcathinone (oxidation via sodium hypochlorite)

    SWIM is wondering whether one can take about 2.4 grams of pseudoephedrine, dissolve it in distilled water, add round about 20 g of clorox (5.25% sodium hypochlorite solution), add some amount of isopropyl alcohol to for the remaining clorox to oxidize, use muriatic acid to get the pH down to about 6, and have methcathinone.

    If this won't work, it'd help to list why, or, even better, an effective way sodium hypochlorite can be used to oxidize pseudoephedrine (cannot get potassium permanganate), and if this will work, some information on the proportions would be helpful.
