Anyone try Open Office? It's an alternative to Microsoft office software. I haven't gone through all of the program yet but it seems useful. There are graphics and math programs in it.

i have not used microsoft for years either. i started on staroffice, and now on openoffice. sometimes i use Abiword, which is cool too. in my Operating Systems class at my college i will bring my laptop to take notes (iBook G4 dual boot with Ubuntu 6.06) and everyone just stares at the screen the whole lecture. some people just cant solve the equation with more than one variable (M$office and OpenOffice). "what IS that? is that a new M$office release?" but maybe they dont like just hearing the lesson about 'round-robin' and 'memory allocation scheme'. i swear some ppl just smoke weed before that class.

ppl are essentially against change and don't trust open source... even if you show them, explain to them, show them a live distro, whatever - 9 times out of 10 they'll go "I'll stick to what I'm used to... btw, which antivirus do you use? mine is rubbish!"
Most of my friends use all the open source software I recommend but refuse to switch OS's..... oh well, their loss I suppose!

some ppl are against change. that attitude specifically defines conservative. conservatives are trying to make time stop. its too bad for them that opensource is the slowly growing future, along with conservatives being stuck out-of-the loop. most serious conservatives will be old and decrepid by then though. haha, most already are if you ask me. ha

    1. Get the open source.

    2. Alternatively, download a CRACKED version, or crack it yourself.

    Never buy ;)

Oh yeah the versitality of that program is great. A mate of mine who is new to computers got a laptop with it already on and can't see the advantages of it. But then I suppose it was meant for those who know what they're on about.
