I always fancied owning a Bull Terrier. Partly because of their look, and because of their size. I have heard though they can be a handful to train. Also, given their past lives (bred for fighting), are they good around people and children? If you own such a dog, I'd like to hear you comments. Danny
My neighbors had one. I do know that they are very sensitive dogs, affectionate, and really love to be with their owners most of the time. The one my neighbor had was named Spunky.....and she was. She was always outside running around with everyone and playing....including the kids. She never ran off, she always stayed right near the house. She was really sweet. I adored her. I dont know if that is representitive of all bull terriers though........
Any terrier is going to be a pain in the ass to train and they dig dig dig. But more than anything, what comes to mind is, "YIP! YIP! YAP! YIP! GRRR! BARK! YIP! YAP! YAP! GRRR! YIP! BARK!"
I've heard that the only problem with bullies is that they're so smart and people oriented that leaving them alone all the time is a bad idea - a lot of owners opt for doggie day care or the like. Other than that, they're supposed to be fun, smart*, sweet dogs. *=smart does not always equal easily trainable.
