Hi. It has been 5 days since I planted my lowryders. Almost all are already growing and I have put the peat pots into permi pots for the entire grow cycle. I guess it is probably ok but they have only had daylight here in England. I ordered a 600W lamp but it got smashed in the post and waiting now for a replacement. Will the lack of 18hr light affect the growth or yield of these lowryders
First, make sure you took the peat pots off of the plants before you transplanted them. They don't always break down the way they should. And if you can get your light quick, then you should be ok.
Hi. A bit worried now. I read in the guides that it was ok to just plant the peat pots into the permi pots, aslong as they were slightly above the soil level of the permi pots to avoid root damage or flooding or something like that. I have already tranferred all the peat pots into the permi pots and removing them now may be a pain, as I am quiet clumsy. Is there anyway to help the peat pots break down properly? Thanks
That I couldn't tell you. I've never used them for anything except outside gardening and that was with vegetables and flowers. For some reason, they just don't like to break down and decompose the way they are supposed to inside in a pot. I just recently read something about this, http://boards.cannabis.com/basic-growing/108719-why-not-use-peat-pots.html Again, this isn't from personal experience, but from what I've seen, I know I won't be using them in the future. You might be able to get them out of there and into their large pots pretty easy now since you just put them in there recently. Otherwise, I'd say just hope for the best.
Hey Azezal! If you can, gently wiggle out the peat pots and cut the bottoms off. Then repot them. Use good sized pots - Lowryders mature so fast they don't want a lot of repotting!
Thanks for letting me know. Will try and remove them from the peat pots tommorow. Thought it was totally safe to use peat pots as two of the best guides I found say they are safe to use.
