I'm taking my first trip to amsterdam in around 10 days and I'm curious about buying more than just a couple of grams of some good weed. I've read on several posts that some coffeeshops will sell 5 gram bags. I was wondering if it was possible to buy even more than that at a coffeeshop or other place. Another question sort of along the same lines...
Are coffeeshops the only place you can buy weed?
Can you buy weed at smartshops, headshops, etc...?

Not that you couldn't visit 10 or more Coffeeshops in a day. And purchase 5 grams from each.

    Don't forget the Hash!

yeah, but be careful---don't get stopped by the police with more than 5g. I believe that is "intent to sell" and you can face some kind of punishment--although, it may just be a fine. (please, someone, correct me if I'm wrong)

Coffeeshops are indeed the only place where you can purchase cannabis, quasi-legally (unless you know some locals that are "in the know"). Coffeeshops outside of Amsterdam are a much better bet for quantity buys; Haarlem for example. They even give quantity discounts @ the Willie Wortel's shops in Haarlem.
Some A'dam shops do sell more than 5 grams at a time. Just ask. I would recommend that you first try the herb and then attempt to purchase the quantity you want, IF the weed is desirable to you. Please heed what Bongish said, dont get caught by the cops. They will probably just take your herb away from you and you will have to pay a fine. Not to mention several hours at the police station. That said, to each his own. Peace.
