yeah, well I can also agree that it got hung up in court for years based on what everyone else thought, and not so much what the people on the recordings had to say... thats one of the pissers of the music biz in general. Compared to some of the other hendrix bootlegs ive heard, this release at least has good sound and shows Jimis playing to be developing. And at the time noone had really heard of Jimi or Curtis, and it was a gamble they were both willing to take to get some notice - which it seems to have! Still, I love this batch of tunes, it has a good groove in spots and shows lots of diff things about how he played and where he was coming from.
i've always loved hearing classic artists getting their early freak on! makes me think of the earliest Stones' stuff, and the Beatles' "star club" discs every artist starts with traditional covers - hearing all their interpretations gives me great fodder and inspiration for my own work
Just gotta look around for it, parts of the PPX Sessions have been released as several different titles, Loose Ends was the first album I heard. It was way later that I got the collection with all the stuff.
