Hi. I have some lowryders growing and both dreading and anticipating breeding them for seeds. This is my first grow, and I chose lowryders because they seem to be hardy to conditions and the males and females don't need to be separated. I remember reading that lowryders were hybrids.

Anyway, read around five guides on lowryders now and still a bit confused. I want to know how to breed the seeds from my crop and if doing this will effect the yield from the females. Also why are other specimens separated from different sexes but not lowryders. Sorry I am clueless on plants.

To the best of my knowledge Lowryders pollenate the same as any strain or subspecies of cannabis - that is to say, if you leave the males growing with the females there will be seeds. If the females become pollenated a lot of thier energy goes to produce seeds, so the bud production is reduced to some degree. The males are "removed" to prevent pollenization and seed production, this process is called "Sinsemella", in the effort to become pollenated the "frustrated" female plant produces more and more flowers (buds). I think you must have misunderstood about Lowryder males and females being grown together, because that's a sure fire way to get seeds (it's nature's way)!

I'd like to see the site where you saw information to the contrary, what site is it? I'm always ready to learn something new and different!

Thanks for reply. I understand a bit better now. The site was a Dutch Seed seller. Bought the seeds from them. I may have got muddled up, but I recall them saying that lowryder male and females do not need to be seperated, also something about them being hermies. New to this so may have got it all wrong. Learning fast though.

I've heard several growers say that, because the Lowryder seeds are a bit pricey, the first thing they did was let at least one female get pollenated to assure a supply of seeds. Looks like you can't clone them, so seeds are the only way to go! Keep on learnin' and good luck. Cheers!
