Hey, I'm writing a paper comparing and contrasting the "War on Drugs" here in America with the drug policies across the globe. It would help me out a lot of you guys would answer this quick little survey for me.....PEACE By the way, I'm posting this in a few different forums so I can get more responses faster..... Have you ever smoked Cannabis? Have you tried any harder drugs? Did the legality of the drug influence your decision? If drugs were legal, but you knew how harmful they could be and all of their effects, would you be more likely to try them? Do you think kids would be more likely to want to try drugs if they were educated on the full effects of all the popular drugs, or if they were just told that they are illegal and wrong? Do you think it would help someone that is addicted to drugs to be incarcerated for drug use, or put into an education and help program that focuses on rehabilitation rather than punishment?
Have you ever smoked Cannabis? yes Have you tried any harder drugs no Did the legality of the drug influence your decision? no If drugs were legal, but you knew how harmful they could be and all of their effects, would you be more likely to try them? no Do you think kids would be more likely to want to try drugs if they were educated on the full effects of all the popular drugs, or if they were just told that they are illegal and wrong? They would be more likely if they were told the real effects, becuase they would realize certain drugs(cannabis) aren't very bad. Do you think it would help someone that is addicted to drugs to be incarcerated for drug use, or put into an education and help program that focuses on rehabilitation rather than punishment? I think rehibilitation would work better, but you shouldnt be punished and they should be legal in the first place.
Have you ever smoked Cannabis? Yes Have you tried any harder drugs? Yes Did the legality of the drug influence your decision? No If drugs were legal, but you knew how harmful they could be and all of their effects, would you be more likely to try them? No Do you think kids would be more likely to want to try drugs if they were educated on the full effects of all the popular drugs, or if they were just told that they are illegal and wrong? Yes and No (more likely to try weed mushies and acid) no for the shit like coke and smack Do you think it would help someone that is addicted to drugs to be incarcerated for drug use, or put into an education and help program that focuses on rehabilitation rather than punishment? More rehab less punishment
Have you ever smoked Cannabis? yes. Have you tried any harder drugs? yes. Did the legality of the drug influence your decision? no. If drugs were legal, but you knew how harmful they could be and all of their effects, would you be more likely to try them? no. Do you think kids would be more likely to want to try drugs if they were educated on the full effects of all the popular drugs, or if they were just told that they are illegal and wrong? Depends on the person...I think if they were legal more people would do them. Cigs have bad effects but no one cares because they are legal. Do you think it would help someone that is addicted to drugs to be incarcerated for drug use, or put into an education and help program that focuses on rehabilitation rather than punishment?[/QUOTE] well yeah. You punish them and they hate you. You help them and they hate themselves.
Have you ever smoked Cannabis? yep Have you tried any harder drugs? yep Did the legality of the drug influence your decision? not really, of course you don't want to get caught though If drugs were legal, but you knew how harmful they could be and all of their effects, would you be more likely to try them? no Do you think kids would be more likely to want to try drugs if they were educated on the full effects of all the popular drugs, or if they were just told that they are illegal and wrong? hard to say, i'm sure some particular substance's use may increase and others decrease with proper knowledge replacing sheer curiousity and rebeliousness Do you think it would help someone that is addicted to drugs to be incarcerated for drug use, or put into an education and help program that focuses on rehabilitation rather than punishment? education and rehab all the way
Have you ever smoked Cannabis? All day Have you tried any harder drugs? Indeed... Did the legality of the drug influence your decision? Somewhat, if'n it weren't illegal I would have done it sooner. If drugs were legal, but you knew how harmful they could be and all of their effects, would you be more likely to try them? Most likely, I mean everyone knows how much worse alcohol is than pot, but look at the statistics. Legality brings popularity to a drug that is so silly. Do you think kids would be more likely to want to try drugs if they were educated on the full effects of all the popular drugs, or if they were just told that they are illegal and wrong? I think any time you tell a child that they shouldn't do something, they will look very hard at weather or not it is in their benifit to defy you. I think that the only anti-drug policy that will work is a de-criminalization of POT. Keep all the other shit out. Do you think it would help someone that is addicted to drugs to be incarcerated for drug use, or put into an education and help program that focuses on rehabilitation rather than punishment? Well if they are "addicted" to pot then just shoot them, noone with will power that low needs to live anyway. Rehab is the only real answer to hard drug addiction... Incarceration just throws the untanted in with the tanted, they all come out worse.
Have you ever smoked Cannabis? Yes. Have you tried any harder drugs? No. Did the legality of the drug influence your decision? No. That is, I didn't smoke it because the thrill of it being illegal attracted me to it. If drugs were legal, but you knew how harmful they could be and all of their effects, would you be more likely to try them? Hell no. Thank God for Erowid. Do you think kids would be more likely to want to try drugs if they were educated on the full effects of all the popular drugs, or if they were just told that they are illegal and wrong? Wouldn't make much of a difference either way. If you educate them on the full effects, they'll want to try those that are not so harmful. If you teach them to "Just Say No", well...we have a saying here in the Philippines: "Masarap ang bawal". It means, "The forbidden is delicious/pleasurable". Do you think it would help someone that is addicted to drugs to be incarcerated for drug use, or put into an education and help program that focuses on rehabilitation rather than punishment? Better for that someone to be educated and rehabilitated.
Have you ever smoked Cannabis? No Have you tried any harder drugs? No Did the legality of the drug influence your decision? No If drugs were legal, but you knew how harmful they could be and all of their effects, would you be more likely to try them? No, I would probably do the same even if they were legal Do you think kids would be more likely to want to try drugs if they were educated on the full effects of all the popular drugs, or if they were just told that they are illegal and wrong? Kids want illegal and forbiden things, but if they were educated on full effects, they would make more rational decision about using drugs... Do you think it would help someone that is addicted to drugs to be incarcerated for drug use, or put into an education and help program that focuses on rehabilitation rather than punishment? Education and rehab help better
Have you ever smoked Cannabis? Yes Have you tried any harder drugs? No Did the legality of the drug influence your decision? No If drugs were legal, but you knew how harmful they could be and all of their effects, would you be more likely to try them? Nope, didn't influence me much. The legality wasn't really up to question when I tried it. Do you think kids would be more likely to want to try drugs if they were educated on the full effects of all the popular drugs, or if they were just told that they are illegal and wrong? No, I do think you should educate them about them. If you say something is bad they will want it more. THey like rebelling against thier parents. Just telling them the truth what is good and what is bad and the side effects will make em more aware of it. But that is my opinion . Do you think it would help someone that is addicted to drugs to be incarcerated for drug use, or put into an education and help program that focuses on rehabilitation rather than punishment?
Have you ever smoked Cannabis? No (I know, I'm weird.) Have you tried any harder drugs? Yep. Did the legality of the drug influence your decision? No on the harder drugs, yes on the cannabis. If drugs were legal, but you knew how harmful they could be and all of their effects, would you be more likely to try them? depends on the drug. Do you think kids would be more likely to want to try drugs if they were educated on the full effects of all the popular drugs, or if they were just told that they are illegal and wrong? No, because kids don't listen. If you tell them something's off limits they'll want it all the more. Do you think it would help someone that is addicted to drugs to be incarcerated for drug use, or put into an education and help program that focuses on rehabilitation rather than punishment? Rehab, sure. Therapy, yeah. Jail or prison? hell no.
