Western Nebraska? My god why? Western Nebraska is just corn fields and then the sand hills (yawn). It has to be the biggest area of nothing there is in the midwest.[IMG]

I lived in Omaha for a few years. Had a loft down in the Old Market. My band used to play at The Howard St.Pub quite often. I really liked Omaha, friendly people always willing to have a good time.

That's true, Nebraska folks are a pretty friendly bunch. But I have to say the crouds at music events can be very bovine-like. They all just stand around, chewing cud... I mean drinking beer. No one dances unless it's a DSO show. Those are the only times that I've ever seen anyone besides myself dance. (Unless it's a country band playing)

Ya, Im in Omaha. It is kinda lonely here and theres not really a whole lot to do. Just a bunch a corn fields and conservative people working and raising conservative families. Nothin too exciting. I usually just pass the time with the local music scene. Ya, I gotta get outa here ASAP!

Hey fellow prisinor of "The Good Life":ack: . What do you do in the Omaha music scene? Is it any better than the one in lincoln? Here it is all just country and metal, no refuge for folks into mellower sounds whithout the twang of country.

I just got back from Lincoln. Went to some bars and a strip club. I havent really been to a lot of musical events in Lincoln.

In Omaha you just gotta hit up the right spots on the right nights to find more chill music. Like you said theirs a lot of metel and country but theirs a lot of good local bands around that just have small shows at bars or lounges. Theirs just not a lot of advertising and more word of mouth but it's kinda good that way cause then you dont get the big crowds of morons. My friends are in a band called Polydipsia. They just like to jam and have a good time. They keep me informed on other good music too. If your in Omaha just look for a newspaper called "the reader" at a gas station. It'll tell ya whats goin on up to a week or two in advance. You can usually find Reggae, funk, acoustic, or jazz. Usually just a local band playing at a bar. It also tells you about other shit to do in Omha. Comedy club, poetry readings, arts ect.

I'm in Lincoln. I see you are in Omaha, are you from here or did you move here? I'm always looking for local friends in the forums. There aren't many Nebraskans around here.
